The Tualatin Transportation Management Association (TMA) is a Chamber service created to provide local employers with additional transportation options for their employees. It is the result of hard work and strategic partnerships between the Chamber, local businesses, the City of Tualatin and Tri-Met.

The TMA provides member employees with information and services to encourage employees' use of alternative transportation. The TMA also provides its members with compliance assistance for the DEQ’s Employee Commute Options (ECO) regulations. It also helps shape local and regional transportation plans by serving as an advocate for Tualatin’s transportation needs and by participation in Transit Choices for Livability, Tri-Met’s response to the challenge of providing transit to a changing metropolitan area.

   TMA Shuttle

Employees are encouraged to consider using Tri-Met instead of driving.  This is currently difficult for those who work in or near Tualatin's Western industrial area, so the TMA provides a peak time shuttle service between key Tri-Met stops and participating worksites.

The TMA Shuttle is a service provided by the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce and the member businesses of the Transportation Management Association. The TMA Shuttle gives you a quick, comfortable ride to and from work, and best of all, it doesn't cost you a penny.

The shuttle benefits local employers in two main ways: first, it helps solve the problem of not being able to hire enough workers due to the lack of transit service in the area, and second, it provides member companies with a Tualatin exclusive means of helping meet the DEQ's (ECO) mandate to reduce the number of vehicles at worksites.

TMA Shuttle Schedule / Route

   Early Bird Express Service

The TMA Shuttle’s Early Bird Express enables Tualatin workers who begin work at 6:00 a.m. to take the bus to work. In addition, easier connections to Tualatin are available from throughout the Portland metropolitian area. The Early Bird Express departs SW Fifth and Yamhill in downtown Portland at 5:32 a.m., arriving in Tualatin before 6:00 a.m. As a result, the TMA Shuttle directly connects to 22 additional Tri-Met lines and MAX. One-transfer service to Tualatin’s industrial area is available from Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Vancouver, and East Portland. Evening service back to Portland will be provided via Tri-Met line #96. See the shuttle schedule for complete information. This is a FREE trip for TMA member employees, provided by the member businesses of the Tualatin TMA and the Tualatin Chamber.

   Carpools

Employees may wish to carpool instead.  The TMA will provide ride-matching services for those who are interested. If you are interested, please contact carpool@tualatinchamber.com.

   Vanpools

Most people who work in Tualatin live elsewhere, many in communities not served by Tri-Met (Newberg, Canby, Vancouver, etc.).  The TMA will provide matching services for employees of participating companies who wish to form a vanpool, as well as making arrangements for the van.

   Other Options

Walking, bicycling, compressed work week and telecommuting are all ways of reducing congestion and pollution. The TMA supports these methods and works with its employers to find ways of implementation.

   Emergency Ride Home

One of the major concerns of commuters regarding using an alternative commute method is the fear that they will be stuck at work in case of a accident or emergency that requires them to leave work unexpedly. The TMA provides its member employees with vouchers to be used for a free cab ride in case of emergencies.

   PASSport

The Tualatin TMA is a marketing center for Tri-Met employer programs including PassPort. PASSport allows Tualatin businesses to purchase annual transit passes for all their employees for as little as $10 each, a $615 value!
