City’s 90th birthday honored with Celebrate Tualatin theme and Crawfish Festival theme.
Leadership Tualatin takes on 3 projects: participating in the Run with the Wolves; canned food drive for the Tualatin Food Pantry; and filling backpacks with school supplies.
IMPORTANT ISSUES:
Chamber votes to oppose formation of a PUD in Multnomah County; endorses Home Occupation code changes; endorses Class Action Fairness Act, and endorses widening of Boones Ferry Road.

• Hole knocked through concrete block wall to form new front entrance at Chamber.
• City of Tualatin receives 2002 Urban and Community Forestry Award.
• Chamber members travel to Salem to meet with Legislators.

Board votes to oppose formation of a PUD in Clackamas County and in Washington County; debate held on Measure 30 (school funding tax); board weighs in on UGB expansion (opposed recommended Tualatin sites) but Metro Council votes to expand anyway; Executive Director appointed to the Core Area Parking Board; Chamber board reviews and recommends changes to the city’s business license fees & alarm permit fees.
IMPORTANT ISSUES:
Bridgeport Village groundbreaking ceremony (left)—Governor in attendance; Washington County Chambers of Commerce Partnership formed; SW 124th expansion opens.

• Newsletter upgraded to include Chamber’s 3 colors: blue, yellow & orange.
• Cweb marketing program introduced, website has 2,200 monthly visitors.
• Ambassador & Membership committee merge to form the Greeters Committee.
